My name is nova. For the 2020 year, I will be leading the Thursday sits via zoom, a space dedicated to food sovereignty, seed planting, gardening and farming.
The radical imagination I am (re)discovering within self & community is ever-evolving, it is something like an act of worldmaking. It is inherently tied to a relational worldview: one that is queer, transgender, political, and knows no limits.
nova's roots are planted in the Mexican (immigrant) communities in Wyoming/Idaho and San Simeón Xipetzinco, México. They are a queer transgender creative in the realm of writing--academic and otherwise. They find love-joy in serving young people and their spiritual-activist communities. As their journey unravels, they continue to grow through self-study, community and service. They are a graduate student and a support provider at a local re-engagement high school that predominately serves youth of color. nova is grateful to build a home in the South Valley with their cat relative (kita) and their beloved partner, mayam.
