Our monthly meditation community gathering is open to self-identified people of color and all levels of practice. This is an important gathering for our community for checking in with one another and discussing dharma topics related to improving wellness particular to people of color. We encourage everyone to attend this gathering as it is an opportunity to grow your practice and connect with your sangha!
Cushions and chairs are available for ease at stationary meditation posture. Yoga mats also available for movement practice.
The following is the typical schedule of our gatherings:
5:30pm Silent Meditation for sitting, walking, lying down, or standing
6:15pm - Check in and break for tea and dinner
about 7pm - Listen to recorded or live talk by meditation teacher of color. Sometimes we have special guests - check the Calendar. We follow the talk with a discussion on the topic.
about 8pm - Brief closing meditation followed by socializing and cleaning up
